Food and Beverage Company - Customer Case Study

Food and Beverage Company, a large brewery, needed a better way to monitor diacetyl rest batches so beer quality stayed within the right boundary conditions. Because offline diacetyl testing was infrequent and delayed, the company relied on temperature as a critical indicator of batch quality and wanted a way to compare current batches against historical good ones. The challenge was to detect deviations early enough to keep the beer tasting right.

Seeq Corporation used its advanced analytics application to build a reference profile from five historically good batches, using average temperature curves and plus/minus three standard deviations as operating boundaries. The solution applied these thresholds to future batches, highlighted excursions, and supported scorecard and trend views for monitoring. The result was earlier detection of process deviations, enabling adjustments that helped maintain consistently good-tasting beer and keep batches within the expected temperature range.
