Case Study: Bacardi achieves streamlined responsible sourcing and greater supply-chain visibility with Sedex

A Sedex Case Study

Preview of the Bacardi Case Study

Sedex is helping Bacardi manage its responsible sourcing

Bacardi, the family-owned spirits company with over 200 brands in more than 160 markets, faced the challenge of reducing its environmental and social impacts while improving the economic status of growers and suppliers — all with less resource commitment to manage suppliers’ ethical data and to cut auditing duplication. To address this, Bacardi joined Sedex in 2007 and used the platform to launch and communicate its Responsible Sourcing programme to suppliers.

Sedex provided a single, easy-to-use platform (including the Sedex Audit Management Service) that centralized ethical data, simplified supplier compliance evidence, and guided suppliers through audits. As a result, Bacardi achieved reduced resource use, fewer duplicate audits, greater visibility into supply‑chain issues, and improved collaboration and credibility across buyers and suppliers — outcomes Bacardi attributes directly to Sedex.
