How KnowBe4 Achieved 27% Cost Savings with Autonomous Cloud Optimization

KnowBe4, a cybersecurity company and leader in security awareness training, was growing rapidly across its AWS environment and struggling to manage thousands of ECS services and Lambda functions at scale. With frequent deployments, heavy traffic, and complex AI and ML workloads, the team needed a better way to ensure efficient performance and control cloud spend, and Sedai provided its autonomous cloud optimization platform to help address those challenges.

Using Sedai’s autonomous optimization for AWS ECS and Lambda, KnowBe4 adopted a phased rollout that reduced engineer toil and continuously tuned resources for cost, performance, and reliability. The results included 27% cloud cost savings, 98% of services running autonomously, more than 1,100 autonomous actions in the first 90 days, and payback in just 5 months, along with major performance gains such as cutting one service’s response time from 18.5 seconds to about 80 milliseconds.
