Rural Community College in Michigan, a two-person IT team running a mixed-vendor network, was using vulnerable pre-shared keys for Wi-Fi and needed a flexible 802.1X solution to secure both wired and wireless access. Their challenge was to implement certificate-based authentication across Meraki and Fortinet hardware while also supporting BYOD devices, all without adding staff or outside consultants.
