Antelope Valley High School District secures VPN access in 2 days with SecureW2

Antelope Valley High School District (AVHSD), a large school district, faced significant security challenges with its Wi-Fi and VPN, including a student hacking the Wi-Fi password. Their Information Systems Director, Dan, needed a scalable solution to secure over 40,000 managed devices without manual configuration and to integrate with their on-premise Active Directory. They contacted SecureW2 for a certificate-based authentication solution.

SecureW2 implemented its cloud PKI and JoinNow Connector to rapidly issue certificates. They auto-enrolled approximately 28,000 Chromebooks in just two days. Soon after, they also secured the district's VPN with certificates. This proved critical when the district survived a firewall attack; hackers with compromised VPN accounts were blocked because they lacked valid certificates. The solution provided robust, automated security, and AVHSD is now considering expanding its use of SecureW2's PKI.
