Case Study: a federally authorized health research organization strengthens secure Wi-Fi authentication with SecureW2

A SecureW2 Case Study

a federally authorized health research organization strengthens Wi-Fi security with SecureW2 and dual RADIUS redundancy

A federally authorized health research organization faced significant network security and operational challenges. The organization, which handles sensitive health data, relied on a small IT team to manage a complex multi-platform environment. Key issues included complications with iOS device enrollment on a hidden network, persistent latency and reliability problems with Intune for certificate delivery, and a lack of redundancy with only a single RADIUS server, creating a high risk of authentication outages. They turned to vendor SecureW2 for an automated solution.

SecureW2 implemented a managed PKI with a data enrichment service to enable secure, passwordless authentication. The solution utilized SCEP for certificate delivery via Intune and a cloud-based RADIUS with geographic failover to provide critical redundancy. SecureW2 also worked directly with the customer to resolve the iOS configuration mismatch. The results included increased network security through certificate-based authentication, alignment with stringent congressional compliance mandates, and greater operational efficiency with automated processes, eliminating the need for labor-intensive manual work.
