Case Study: Arup achieves resilient, cost-efficient global IT consolidation with SecureData

A SecureData Case Study

Preview of the Arup Case Study

SecureData helps ARUP consolidate its IT systems to improve operational and cost efficiencies

Arup, a global engineering and professional services firm with over 10,000 staff in 37 countries, runs temporary on-site offices for long-term construction projects. Different parts of the business were using competing IT technologies, creating a complex, costly, hard-to-manage global network that hindered application performance and operational efficiency. Arup needed to consolidate systems into a single, resilient infrastructure that was easy to manage and cost-effective.

SecureData delivered a phased implementation of F5 BIG‑IP LTM (local load balancing) and GTM (global traffic management) to centralise application delivery and automate failover across data centres. The solution improved speed and resilience (applications accelerated up to three times), reduced server load and bandwidth costs, cut downtime, simplified global management, and enabled further automation and elastic capacity trials — producing clear operational efficiencies and cost savings.
