Case Study: FINRA boosts secure coding awareness with Secure Code Warrior

Driving Actionable Awareness Finra’s Push for Super-secure Developers

FINRA, the U.S. financial regulator overseeing broker-dealers and investor protection, wanted to strengthen security awareness across its development teams as software delivery and digital risk increased. To help build a security-first coding mindset, FINRA worked with Secure Code Warrior, using its secure coding platform to make training more relevant, engaging, and practical for developers.

Secure Code Warrior supported FINRA with a gamified team tournament for 60 developers, paired with pre-event hands-on workshops and incentives to drive participation. The result was 120 hours of training, 360 challenges completed, and 61 security-aware developers, while also helping FINRA identify potential security champions and generate lasting enthusiasm for future security initiatives.
