Speed Biometrics rolls out self-service ID terminals in 100+ municipalities with Secunet Security Networks

The customer, Speed Biometrics GmbH, faced the challenge of creating a self-service terminal for citizens to safely and quickly submit their biometric data when applying for passports and ID cards. They partnered with vendor Secunet Security Networks and utilized its secunet biomiddle product to ensure the solution would be user-friendly, protect data, and meet all national requirements.

Secunet Security Networks implemented its biometric middleware, secunet biomiddle, to perform photo quality checks and fingerprint capture for the terminal. The solution was successfully certified to BSI TR-03121 and its modular design allows for use with other document types. As a result, Speed Biometrics' self-service terminal has been deployed with great success in over 100 municipalities across twelve German states.
