SMIT deploys 16 ABC gates with Secunet Security Networks for faster border control

Secunet Security Networks partnered with SMIT to implement automated border control (ABC) gates at Estonia's busiest crossing points, Tallinn Airport and the Narva land border. The challenge was to speed up the border control process and relieve congestion at these high-traffic locations while working within the physical constraints of the existing infrastructure.

The solution implemented by Secunet was its latest generation of ABC gates, the secunet easygate, which featured a unique one-door design to save space. This system authenticates travel documents and performs biometric checks simultaneously in a single step. Secunet also provided a monitoring application and integrated its existing eID PKI Suite to enhance security. This resulted in a significantly faster and more reliable automated border control process for passengers.
