Deutsche Lufthansa AG blocks illegal entry with secunet's mobile document system at international hotspots
The customer, Deutsche Lufthansa AG, required a solution to identify counterfeit travel documents at foreign airports with high potential for abuse. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor Secunet Security Networks for a mobile inspection system built around secunet's inspection software and the secunet biomiddle middleware.
Secunet implemented an automated, mobile system housed in a robust case containing a document reader and laptop. The solution checks documents using UV, infrared, and visible light and validates them against a reference database, preventing illegal transport and unauthorized entry. The data is archived briefly and then irrevocably deleted. This allows Secunet's solution to be deployed flexibly at various international hotspots, operated intuitively by Lufthansa employees.
