1&1 De-Mail GmbH achieves DMDA accreditation in 2012 with Secunet Security Networks

The customer, 1&1 De-Mail GmbH, a subsidiary providing secure email services, required accreditation as a De-Mail service provider. Their challenge was to develop a comprehensive, certifiable information security management system (ISMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001 and BSI Standard 100-2 to meet strict regulatory requirements. They engaged vendor Secunet Security Networks for its consulting services to achieve this.

Secunet implemented the ISMS, setting up the necessary security and data protection organizations and creating a required security concept. This led to the successful initial accreditation for the customer in 2012. Secunet continues to provide ongoing support for annual external audits and reaccreditation, and its consultants have taken on long-term roles as security officers and managers for the customer.
