Rauch Focuses On Process Optimization Through Remote Maintenance And Visualization In The Cloud

RAUCH Furnace Technology, an Austrian maker of high-quality melting technology for magnesium, zinc, and other non-ferrous metals, wanted a fast, simple, and secure way to remotely access customer plants, improve process transparency, and identify issues early across its mostly export-driven business. The company worked with Secomea and distributor Routeco to find a remote maintenance solution that could support digitalization and help compare real-world machine data with internal experience.

Secomea’s SiteManager industrial router and edge device was implemented with A1 Digital’s Cumulocity cloud to collect and visualize sensor data such as temperature, speed, and runtime in real time. The setup improved customer support, enabled virtual commissioning during Covid-19, supported predictive maintenance, and helped RAUCH optimize temperature control to reduce energy use, CO2 emissions, and costs while extending equipment lifetime; the company also highlighted IEC 62443-3 certified end-to-end security.
