Panasonic’s Smart Mobility Office needed a better way to manage and share data across North American business units as volumes grew to more than 3TB of connected vehicle, IoT, weather, and geospatial data each week. The team wanted a clear source of truth to improve data discovery, documentation, and trust for both data practitioners and business users, and turned to Secoda to help organize and explain its data.

With Secoda, Panasonic built a centralized hub for documentation, discovery, and governance alongside its Snowflake, Prefect, Soda, and dbt stack. The team used Secoda for dataset search, lineage and calculation context, RBAC-based access, FAQs, office hours, and canned queries, which helped create self-serve analytics and reduce repetitive questions to zero while improving trust in dashboards and data across the business.
