Fullscript doubles data sources with dbt Cloud and Secoda

Fullscript, the healthcare prescribing platform for more than 90,000 practitioners, needed to modernize a legacy data stack that was hard to manage, relied on custom Postgres, SQL, Python, and Argo workflows, and left the team struggling to add new data sources or keep reporting accurate. During this period, Fullscript also had limited historical knowledge on the data team and faced a major challenge integrating a large number of new sources after an acquisition.

To solve this, Fullscript implemented dbt Cloud for data transformation and Secoda for data search, cataloging, lineage, and documentation. With Secoda and dbt Cloud, the team completed the migration in about nine months, improved data pipeline project delivery efficiency by 300%, increased dashboard performance by 10x, and merged 100 new source data models in one month after the merger. Fullscript said the stack made it possible to scale quickly, support self-serve analytics, and handle doubled data sources with much less engineering overhead.
