Sitecore upgraded to Sitecore 10 and used SearchStax to shift from Azure Search to Solr

Sitecore, the digital experience platform used by more than 5,200 brands, needed to move its search infrastructure when Sitecore Experience Platform 10 made Solr the recommended search technology. To replace their Azure Cognitive Search setup and avoid a DIY Solr deployment, Sitecore selected SearchStax and its Managed Solr product to support the upgrade and ongoing search operations.

SearchStax deployed a 2‑node, high‑availability Managed Solr cluster in Azure for production, a dedicated single node for non‑production, and a Platinum Support package (24x7x365 coverage with a 99.9% uptime SLA). SearchStax also completed a data‑center migration from US West to US East in a single day, added five proactive alerts, and handled version changes—delivering a more stable, secure, and robust Solr environment with improved search performance and accuracy (notably in the Knowledge Center and Customer Stories), saving time and accelerating Sitecore’s upgrade timelines.
