Sheypoor.com, a top-five consumer marketplace in the Middle East and an Alexa top 10,000 site, was handling more than 150 million search requests per month on a single Azure machine powered by Apache Solr. Facing a nationwide TV campaign that could drive up to 10x traffic, Sheypoor needed a fast, highly available and on-demand scalable search solution that wouldn’t distract its development team.
