THE UPSIDE, an Australian athleisure brand, faced the challenge of managing three e-commerce domains and delivering a more personalized, controllable shopping experience—especially around frequent limited-edition drops. As part of a replatform to BigCommerce led by Matter Design, THE UPSIDE selected Searchspring for its intelligent search and merchandising capabilities to gain the flexibility and on-site personalization it needed.

Searchspring implemented merchandising automation, campaign-copying rules, boost rules, search reporting and synonyms, and is rolling out personalized product recommendations to tailor results and speed time-to-purchase. The result: Searchspring gave THE UPSIDE greater control and faster optimization, and in Q1 2021 shoppers who used site search drove 4x higher revenue per visit and 4x higher conversion rates, prompting THE UPSIDE to redesign its homepage to encourage search use.
