Kiteworks patches dozens of CentOS vulnerabilities in days with Seal Security

Kiteworks, a technology company that secures sensitive content communications, faced a significant security and compliance challenge when Red Hat ended support for CentOS. This left dozens of critical vulnerabilities without upstream fixes, putting their crucial FedRAMP compliance at risk and threatening customer confidence. The alternative of migrating to a different Linux distribution was a six-month project with a high risk of breaking changes.

Seal Security integrated with Kiteworks' source code repository and build process to provide centralized governance and patching. As a result, all CentOS-related vulnerabilities were patched within days, FedRAMP compliance was maintained, and critical vulnerability scans were passed. This solution mitigated immediate risks and gave Kiteworks the flexibility to plan a future migration on its own timeline without disruptive changes.
