A Seagate Case Study
Turning Point, a non-profit youth and family counseling center in Fort Collins, Colorado, needed to improve the performance of its aging laptops without replacing them, so therapists and counselors could stay mobile and quickly complete notes, reports, and other paperwork after sessions. With limited IT budgets, the organization turned to Seagate and its solid state hybrid drives (SSHDs) to extend the life of donated hardware.
Seagate SSHDs were installed in older laptops to add SSD-like speed and HDD capacity, improving everyday tasks such as web access, drive cloning, streaming, and Skype-based therapy sessions. Turning Point reported performance gains of about 40% to 50% on the oldest machines, along with faster boot times and happier users, helping staff spend less time on documentation and more time with clients.
