Seagate Helps Unique Oncam Grandeye 360 CCTV Technology Steal the Competitive Edge

Oncam, a UK-based developer of award-winning 360° CCTV surveillance technology, needed storage that could handle continuous high-resolution video recording while also supporting later playback and retrospective analysis. To power its Halocorder system, Oncam chose Seagate Surveillance HDDs, designed for surveillance and AV workloads.

With Seagate’s surveillance-optimized hard drives, Oncam could continuously write large volumes of data while enabling retrospective ePTZ and high-resolution review after an incident. The result was about five days of 24x7 recording at 4fps, with the ability to achieve the equivalent of 7x optical zoom after the fact, while also benefiting from strong pre-sales and after-sales support from Seagate.
