Seagate Enterprise HDDs and SSDs Play Critical Role in Expanding AIC’s Server Portfolio

Advanced Industrial Computer (AIC), a Taipei-based global provider of OEM/ODM server and storage solutions, needed to help customers meet rapidly growing storage demands while reducing total cost of ownership, energy use, cooling needs, and rack-space requirements. To address these challenges, AIC looked for high-density, power-efficient storage technology and worked with Seagate on enterprise HDDs and SSDs for its server and storage portfolio.

Seagate provided Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDDs, Terascale HDDs, and Seagate 1200 SSDs to support AIC’s high-density JBOD and server designs, including the XJ3000-4603S. The solution enabled up to 60 drives in a 4U chassis, improved storage density by 66%, and reduced energy usage by up to 80% in standby mode; one system with 60 drives could save about 4,100 kWh per year. Seagate’s technology also helped AIC launch and expand its 4U60 product line for data-intensive workloads such as media, streaming, data mining, virtualization, and cloud computing.
