A Seagate Case Study
Rausch Netzwerktechnik needed a more efficient way to scale storage for rapidly growing unstructured data without the cost and complexity of traditional architectures. Working with Seagate, the company looked for a high-density, scale-out object storage approach that could fit more capacity into less space and better serve cloud storage customers.
Seagate’s Kinetic Open Storage Platform, used in Rausch’s BigFoot Storage Object solution, enabled direct drive access over the network and eliminated the need for a separate storage server tier. The result was up to 288TB in a 4U chassis and 2.8PB per rack, with TCO reduced by up to 50% versus conventional systems, along with lower power, labor, and data center space requirements.
