A Seagate Case Study
Elliptical Mobile Solutions (EMS) needed a more flexible way to deploy data centres that could handle rising storage density, cooling constraints, and limited space without requiring expensive building upgrades. To support this challenge, EMS worked with Seagate, using Seagate enterprise SSDs and HDDs as part of its modular data centre approach.
Seagate helped EMS deliver an optimum mix of capacity, performance density, and energy efficiency for modular data centres. Combined with EMS’s self-contained rack-level cooling solution, the Seagate storage portfolio enabled customers to tailor deployments to their needs while improving scalability and reducing footprint, cooling, and operating costs; the case study cites potential capital savings of 50%-80%, cooling and electricity cost reductions up to 50%, operational savings of 40%-85%, and footprint reduction of up to 75%.
