A Seagate Case Study
Xi3 Corporation, known for its modular computers that pack PC-level performance into a quarter of the size, needed a way to offer more storage without sacrificing space, style, or security. Its compact systems for gaming, enterprise use, and sensitive environments all faced the same challenge: users needed higher-capacity storage, but local internal storage was limited. Seagate provided the storage technology, including Laptop SSHD products for Xi3’s SLID3 storage solutions.
Seagate helped Xi3 integrate SSHD-based SLID3 drives into its PISTON Console and X7A Modular Computer, giving users a simple slide-on way to add storage instantly. The result was up to 2TB of extra capacity for consoles and business systems, while maintaining strong performance, affordability, and the security benefits of keeping data on external drives. Xi3 reported that Seagate’s SSHD technology was a strong fit because it brought the same solid-state advantages that underpin Xi3’s design.
