Our Community Investment Software Selection Process By Nathan Thompson, United Way of the Bluegrass

United Way of the Bluegrass needed to move from paper-based grant and volunteer review processes to an online system that could handle custom application forms, compliance documents, multi-county workflows, volunteer review pages, and robust reporting. They selected e-Impact (formerly e-CFund), a community investment software developed by Seabrooks, to centralize applications, streamline agency and volunteer access, and improve data collection.

Seabrooks implemented e-Impact with customized forms, individual agency and volunteer web pages, reporting/export to Excel, compliance-document management, and Q&A and collaboration features. The change eliminated duplicate paper submissions, gave volunteers easier and better application review, and saved staff hours previously spent compiling outcomes—marketing and board reports that once took hours can now be downloaded—while building goodwill with agencies and improving the overall review and decision process.
