A Seabrooks Case Study
Best Beginnings, an Anchorage-based nonprofit working with partners across Alaska, faced a sudden and complete elimination from the state budget in 2015 while trying to coordinate services and shared measurement across a sprawling, remote network. To streamline reporting and tell a compelling impact story, Best Beginnings turned to Seabrooks, which deployed the e-Cimpact platform to replace paper applications and manual compilation of partner data.
Seabrooks’ e-Cimpact solution centralized applications, allocations and quarterly reporting so Best Beginnings could produce real‑time aggregate reports and client stories with a single click. The system captured data across 33 partner communities (including Imagination Libraries reaching 113 communities and more than 23,000 children), eliminated late or incomplete reports, saved significant staff time, enabled volunteer-driven funding reviews, and helped secure partial reinstatement of state funding; it also supported a data-driven reallocation of resources after a 67% cut and consolidation of staffing to focus on the highest‑impact programs.
