Persosa Connects TV with Real-time Digital Experiences Using ScyllaDB Cloud

Persosa, a Phoenix-based startup that helps media and entertainment companies create connected viewer experiences, needed to connect TV and digital interactions in real time. To do that, it had to track and segment viewers, decide what content to show, and serve it in milliseconds—making low-latency database performance critical. After evaluating options including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Bigtable, Persosa chose ScyllaDB and later moved from its earlier hosted setup to ScyllaDB Cloud.

With ScyllaDB Cloud, Persosa saw consistently faster reads, easier management, and stronger support. Even with AWS deployments serving a GCP-based environment, ScyllaDB delivered better performance than the prior solution, cutting average server-side request latency from about 80 milliseconds to about 9 milliseconds, an improvement of roughly 10x. Persosa said ScyllaDB met and exceeded expectations for request latency and helped improve the end-user experience.
