Instinctive.io Powers Content Marketing and Native Advertising with ScyllaDB

Instinctive is a content-marketing and native-advertising platform that traces every ad request for timing, ad choice, and user profile, and needed a geo-distributed, auto-replicated logging backend that could scale to hundreds of gigabytes while delivering very low latency for real-time bidding. After finding Aerospike and MemSQL did not meet scalability needs, Instinctive chose ScyllaDB to support its logging workload and multi‑datacenter requirements.

ScyllaDB implemented a solution on Google Compute Engine using ScyllaDB’s native multi‑datacenter replication and row caching on SSD-backed instances (4 vCPU, 15 GB DRAM, SCSI SSD), enabling low-latency reads and writes and analytics support. The deployment delivered read/write latencies of a few milliseconds at the 99th percentile, native geo-replication with minimal tuning, and cost-effective handling of hundreds of gigabytes — meeting Instinctive’s bidding and scalability requirements.
