Mustache Pretzels, founded by Greg Golden in Tempe, Arizona, needed help navigating rapid growth and major business decisions. The company faced challenges including limited food service experience, uncertainty around commercial equipment and operations, irregular cash flow, and the question of whether to relocate the business when Golden’s wife’s job moved to the East Coast.

SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty provided mentoring and strategic guidance, helping Golden assess his options and build a roadmap for launching a second food truck. The vendor also helped him plan buildout, permitting, and marketing, while strengthening his understanding of service operations and equipment needs. As a result, Mustache Pretzels expanded to two Phoenix-area food trucks and a storefront at the Phoenix Convention Center, and was selected as one of 102 state winners in the 2017 American Small Business Championship.
