LulyBoo, founded by Pazit Ben-Ezri in Irvine, California, set out to solve a common parenting challenge: creating a portable sleeping solution for her baby. As the business grew, Pazit needed guidance on startup strategy, marketing, financing, operations, and other early-stage business decisions, so she turned to SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty for support.

SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty connected Pazit with mentors who helped refine her advertising, develop a contest video, and advise on key business functions including accounting, insurance, sales pitches, social media, and trademark/patent decisions. The results were significant: LulyBoo won a $10,000 prize in the Irvine Entrepreneur Forum competition, became profitable in 2013, expanded into more than 300 Babies “R” Us stores, 100 buy buy BABY stores, and 300+ Burlington Coat Factory locations, and was recognized by SCORE as the 2014 Outstanding Innovative Small Business.
