Jaime Construction, Inc., a Chula Vista, California construction firm founded by Edna and Alfredo Jaime, needed guidance as they transitioned from employees to business owners and worked to secure the licensing, structure, and know-how to launch successfully. With help from SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty mentor Elias Sheinberg, they pursued a general contractor’s license and prepared to open their own restaurant remodeling business.

SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty provided mentoring on incorporation, navigating bureaucracy, marketing, staffing, human resources, and networking, while also offering encouragement and culturally aligned support in Spanish. As a result, Jaime Construction completed six restaurant remodels and a real estate office building in its first year, generating $1.2 million in gross sales, and built a strong foundation for continued growth.
