With guidance from SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty mentor Dr. Crumpton Farrell, the brothers developed better business and marketing plans and improved their financing, budgeting, sales, advertising, and general management practices. The results were strong: annual output rose from about 50–60 wells to 80 in the first year of working with the mentor, business grew 20% to 25% per year, and they reached 120 wells drilled in 2000 with a backlog of work for the following spring.
