Families to Freedom - Customer Case Study

Families to Freedom is a nonprofit founded by Sarah Nejdl in Addison, Texas, to provide long-distance transportation for domestic violence survivors who need to reach safer housing or reunite with family. The organization faced the challenge of turning a compassionate idea into a compliant, fundable, and operational service, while also building the leadership and structure needed to launch.

SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty helped by connecting Nejdl with mentoring and workshops, including guidance on bylaws, business planning, fundraising, salesmanship, networking, and strategic prioritization. With support from SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty, Families to Freedom launched within a year, built a volunteer network for ground and air transportation, and began serving survivors across a wide radius around Dallas-Fort Worth.
