A Bathtime Dilemma Leads to One Mom's Lightbulb Moment

My “Buddy” Towel, based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is the business created by Angelyn Myers after a bathtime problem at home inspired her to design a better way to dry and warm children after baths. She needed a solution that worked better than towels or bathrobes, and she turned to SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty for guidance as she brought the product idea to life.

With help from SCORE Mentors Berks and Schuylkill Cty, including mentor Ron Glass, Myers refined her business plan, navigated patent and trademark steps, and prepared for investor and pitch opportunities. The support helped her secure funding on Elevator Pitch and become one of three grand prize winners in the 2018 American Small Business Championship, earning $15,000 to grow My “Buddy” Towel.
