Ameresco Leading the Charge with Solar O&M Innovation

Ameresco, a leading solar O&M provider operating and maintaining over 270 sites in the Northeast with an operations team of about 20 people, faced the challenge of efficiently managing diverse portfolios (from rooftop school systems to 25+ acre ground‑mounted facilities with over 1,000 inverters) while delivering professional, client-ready reporting and minimizing unnecessary site visits and storm-driven service calls. To meet growing national ambitions and varied client needs, Ameresco needed a digital workflow that improved field data capture, reporting quality, and remote visibility.

Scoop Solar’s Scoop platform — a mobile workforce management and automation solution — was implemented to digitize checklists, sync photos and data to the cloud, generate customizable PDF reports automatically, and provide client seats to view workflows in progress. The Scoop Solar solution improved report quality and adaptability, enabled better triage (reducing time‑consuming on-site diagnostics like curve tracing when paired with drone/thermal imaging), and gave Ameresco a scalable system to document inspections, justify repairs, and deliver faster, more transparent service to clients.
