The Spanish furniture manufacturer Rimobel faced a challenge in managing "batch 1" production, where each piece is unique. To maintain its fast delivery times and high-quality service for its extensive catalog of children's and bedroom furniture kits, it needed a flexible and automated solution to eliminate slow, manual machine changes and the high risk of errors. They partnered with vendor SCM to implement the "stefani rocket" edgebanding line.

SCM's automated line uses barcodes to instantly change edgebanding for each unique panel, with up to 24 different colorings available. This solution provided Rimobel with maximum flexibility for special productions and dramatically improved efficiency. The results were a tripling of production speed using half the resources, a significant leap in productivity, and a high level of reliability that eliminated errors and upheld their competitive express delivery service.
