Preview of the Nucamp Case Study

Nucamp boosts camper production with SCM’s maintenance-light machining center serving 185 employees

nuCamp, a North American manufacturer of high-end campers and travel trailers, faced the challenge of optimizing its wood processing operations for cabinetry and interiors. The company needed to automate and increase productivity to compete successfully, moving away from inefficient hand processes for shaped profiles. To address this, nuCamp selected SCM and implemented the Morbidelli P200 boring-milling and edgebanding machining centre.

The SCM Morbidelli P200 solution, featuring the patented HE-POD suction cup system, automated the production of shaped pieces and eliminated manual work with a table saw. This allowed nuCamp to provide clients with higher quality production, using a more resistant PUR glue for a sleek, clean look. The team reported that SCM's technology was a reliable, solid long-term investment that simplified and automated their workflow. They also highlighted SCM's outstanding after-sales support, which helped them quickly deal with problems and avoid downtime.
