Montracon installs SCM’s 23m x 4.5m CNC to boost trailer production with a £350,000 investment

Montracon, a leading European manufacturer of trailers, required a CNC machine with an exceptionally long table to accommodate the large sides and roofs of their trailers. They turned to vendor SCM Group for a solution to increase production and quality in a competitive market.

SCM implemented its large-format Routech ‘Area’ CNC machining centre, a 23-meter long machine equipped with a 5-axis Prisma ‘T’ machining head. This solution, which included SCM's 'Quick Link' software for seamless CAD/CAM integration, allowed Montracon to efficiently trim and drill thick laminated panels. The result was a significant increase in production output and quality for their trailer components, representing a major investment of over £350,000 for the UK's largest CNC machining centre.
