Furniture Technologies boosts panel finishing with SCM’s 1650mm dmc system t4

Furniture Technologies (Solomon & Wu), a company creating innovative resin, cement, and wood composite panels, faced a significant challenge in finishing their pioneering materials. Their unique panels, which contained materials of vastly different densities like soft resin and hard plasma rock, were nearly impossible to sand properly with standard machinery without destroying their essential surface character and texture. After an extensive search, they partnered with vendor SCM to find a solution.

SCM provided a purpose-built dmc system t4 sander, designed in collaboration with the customer after extensive testing of their full-size panels. The machine's flexibility, including features like planetary sanders with spongy pads and brushes, allowed Furniture Technologies to finish their diverse materials without applying excessive pressure, thus perfectly preserving the texture.
