Case Study: Felbermayer achieves fully automated window production with SCM

A SCM Case Study

Preview of the Felbermayer Case Study

Felbermayer boosts window production to 30,000 units a year with SCM

Felbermayer, a manufacturer of wooden and aluminium windows and doors, faced the challenge of needing to fully automate its production to remain competitive. To meet the demands of public tender contracts, which required high quality, competitive pricing, and quick delivery times, the company turned to its long-term technology partner, SCM. Felbermayer invested in SCM's "System" model for window production and an "Accord 40 FX" CNC processing center to achieve greater flexibility and automation.

The solution implemented by SCM provided a highly automated and integrated production line, managed with RFID technology. This allowed Felbermayer to optimize its entire machining process. The results were significant; the new "System" machine enabled components to be completely finished without needing further operations, increasing production speed so much that the same volume could be completed in one shift instead of three. SCM's reliable technology and partnership gave Felbermayer the confidence to modernize its 12,000m² facility with a 17 million Euro investment.
