Ashford Handicrafts Ltd boosts precision and productivity with SCM, exporting 90% worldwide

Ashford Handicrafts Ltd, a world-leading New Zealand manufacturer of traditional wooden looms, faced the challenge of manufacturing its wide range of complex products with maximum efficiency. The family-run company needed production methods that would deliver high precision and significantly increase productivity for its highly demanding global clientele. To meet this challenge, they turned to machinery from vendor SCM.

SCM provided a solution comprising seven machines, including five CNC machining centres such as the Accord 30 fx and a Morbidelli n200 nesting centre. This technology from SCM enabled more accurate production of parts, greater performance, less waste, and increased safety. The results were significant increases in production times and the achievement of high levels of precision, allowing Ashford to continue weaving its future with a focus on further technological investment.
