How Animal Testing Labs are Harnessing Animal Colony Management with Scispot

Vanderbilt Center for Addiction Research, through the Siciliano Lab at Vanderbilt University’s Department of Pharmacology, needed a better way to manage in vivo animal studies and animal colony information. Scispot’s Unified Platform was introduced to help centralize data that had previously been scattered across different systems, making it difficult for researchers to quickly find animal, project, and cage details.

With Scispot, the lab streamlined animal colony management, improved daily workflows, and made information easier for all team members to access through centralized tracking and global search. Scispot also helped reduce unnecessary animal costs by preventing unattended colonies and is expected to lower supply expenses by avoiding duplicate reagent orders, while improving continuity during personnel changes and supporting future data integration across diverse research areas.
