Large Specialty Healthcare Organization engaged SCIO Health Analytics using the SCIOVantage™ Platform to assess the efficiency and efficacy of clinical programs including oral chemotherapy, inotropic infusion therapy, and rheumatoid arthritis biologics. The customer’s challenges were a lack of equivalent control groups to measure program impact, the need to integrate complex survey data with claims and activity data, and the requirement for appropriate analytic methodology to quantify care effectiveness.

SCIO Health Analytics integrated clinical, claims, pharmacy and survey/HRA data, developed benchmarks from claims, and built econometric models and pharmacoeconomic analyses to evaluate intervention strategies and patient safety (including drug wasting, compliance, and persistence). As a result, SCIO Health Analytics demonstrated improved persistency rates for oral chemotherapy participants versus controls, showed the split-pill program substantially reduced waste, and found that monitored oral chemotherapy patients were less likely to be hospitalized—providing measurable evidence to educate patients and providers about program value.
