Numaferm, a German biotech company specializing in recombinant peptide, peptide, and protein expression, needed a better way to manage collaboration across departments. Their teams in molecular biology, upstream processing, and downstream processing & analytics struggled with sharing data, tracking tasks, and maintaining traceability of materials without relying on scattered folders, email chains, or shared spreadsheets. SciNote, an electronic lab notebook (ELN), was used to address these collaboration and documentation challenges.

With SciNote, Numaferm centralized experimental data, task assignments, comments, and material traceability in one platform, making it easier to communicate across departments and follow project progress. SciNote also helped the team locate associated data faster, assign and monitor responsibilities, and track chemicals and columns used in experiments to support quality management. The case study reports improved collaboration and more efficient information flow, though it does not provide a quantified ROI or other numerical impact.
