Penetration Testing for a Mobile Operator

Mobile Operator, a telecommunications company with more than 5 mln subscribers and almost 2,000 employees, needed to check whether its security measures could protect sensitive data, including financial information, and keep services stable. The company looked for ScienceSoft to perform penetration testing of its information system and public web applications and to identify vulnerabilities before intruders could exploit them.

ScienceSoft assigned a team of 2 penetration testers and carried out black-box testing in 2 phases: the network perimeter and 5 public web applications, including the business website, online shop, and client portal. After almost 4 months of work, ScienceSoft delivered a technical report with the detected vulnerabilities classified by risk, along with actionable remediation recommendations and longer-term security measures. The customer began implementing the recommendations and eliminating the issues after receiving the report.
