After IBM purchased and migrated a complex application to new middleware, they faced the need for extensive regression testing across multiple platforms and browsers without the ability to easily scale their manual testing team.

ScienceSoft implemented an automated smoke test solution using IBM Rational Functional Tester and other tools. This system tracked product quality from build to build and identified faulty code commits quickly. The automation delivered the daily performance of a 15-person manual test team, improved test coverage, eliminated time spent on faulty builds, and allowed IBM to achieve higher quality with a smaller team.
