Desktop Design Tool Streamlines Graphic Products Sales

P.I.C.S. EDV GmbH, an Austrian company that provides custom software development services and SMS marketing solutions, needed a partner for a printing company project. The end client wanted a desktop app that would let users create personalized designs for graphic products and manage the full process before printing without outside help. The existing Delphi-based version had limited features and could not support functionality changes, so the company turned to ScienceSoft.

ScienceSoft built the new application in C++ with Qt, delivering a printing e-factory with six components for product browsing, ordering, design, editing, and basket handling. The software also included a Photo Manager plugin, an Image Editor, and a plugin for storing and reviewing order-related information. According to the case study, the new solution supports updates, handles advanced design tasks, and is distributed for free through the end client’s website, helping streamline the design process and support sales.
