3D Render improves FLEX–M-Files interoperability with ScienceSoft and secures data for multiple users

The Finnish company 3D Render, a provider of advanced visualization solutions for the construction industry, faced a challenge in establishing seamless and secure interconnectivity between its FLEX application and its M-Files vault database. They engaged ScienceSoft to build a flexible and developer-friendly framework that would ensure high performance and meet strict security requirements, including content encryption, authentication, and a groups and roles security model.

ScienceSoft developed a solution using a WCF Service and WS Security with X.509 certificates to enable secure interoperability. They overcame significant technical hurdles, including generating a custom proxy for FLEX and designing a new API to address M-Files caching limitations. As a result, 3D Render received a fully functional framework that met all requested features, and ScienceSoft proposed next steps for further collaboration to enhance the system.
