The University of Manchester, a large research-intensive university in the UK, needed to improve procurement efficiency, integrate with Oracle ERP, increase supplier enablement, and ensure better spend control, contract compliance, and pricing accuracy. It chose Science Warehouse and its eProcurement eMarketplace/eCatalogue solution to help streamline purchasing across the institution.

Science Warehouse implemented an eMarketplace integrated with the University’s Oracle finance system, giving over 4,100 users access to a broad catalogue of products and simplifying requisitioning and ordering. The results were strong: in one year the University raised over 56,000 purchase orders, processed around 20,000 invoices, achieved over £100k in savings, and generated about £1.8m in efficiencies through eProcurement, while also improving contract compliance and supplier engagement.
